This painting is a work in acrylic on canvas and came about when a guest at our wedding sent us this great snapshot they had taken on their phone.
The photograph show's my sister as one of our bridesmaids chatting with the daughter of our best man, who appears to be demonstrating how a toy we supplied on the children's table, works. It was such a lovely and playful image, I had to create a painting from it!
In the painting, I have enhanced the colour palette and kept the brushwork open and energetic, which I feel conveys the energy of the scene and the idea of witnessing a fleeting moment in time. Notice the broad strokes of colour and brevity in the mark making throughout, lending a swift touch quality to the overall painting.
